Display of Nearest Petrol Stations and Other POIs Along Your Route
MapFactor is proud to announce the release of the latest version of its navigation app, MapFactor Navigator 8 for Android. The key new feature enables drivers to see the nearest points of interest (POIs) along their route during navigation, greatly simplifying the planning of stops – whether for fuel stations, electric vehicle charging points, parking areas, rest stops, or other locations.
By default, the app automatically displays icons for the two closest petrol stations, including distance information, directly on the navigation screen. By tapping the icon and selecting the option from the menu, users can easily add the chosen stop as a waypoint – the route will be automatically recalculated to include the new stop. The type of POIs displayed can be quickly changed, or the feature can be completely hidden and reactivated later.

This new nearest POI feature was developed in response to numerous requests from Navigator users themselves.
It is available free of charge to all users from version 8.0 onward. MapFactor Navigator 8 is now available for download in all Android editions – the free MapFactor Navigator, premium Navigator Car PRO, and professional Navigator Truck PRO – on Google Play.
With this update, MapFactor continues to expand its range of practical tools for both everyday and professional drivers.
Further enhancements in Navigator 8
Other enhancements in version 8 include improved real-time traffic information (HD Traffic), edge-to-edge display support for Android 15+, and new map colour schemes inspired by the OpenStreetMap style – also added based on user requests.
